If you were hoping for a break from the ongoing construction work on the metro, I'm sorry to say it's not going to happen anytime soon! With the Paris 2024 Olympics approaching, the Parisian metro and RER network are undergoing renovations. This means there will be several closures in spring 2024. Here's a summary of all the upcoming closures before the summer.

Line 2

From Sunday, April 7 to Saturday, April 13, there will be no service between Père-Lachaise and Barbès - Rochechouart on line 2 due to maintenance work. Don't worry though, there will be replacement bus services available. While the interruption is in effect, keep in mind the affected stops. We also recommend taking metro lines 1, 3, 9, and RER A to get around.

Line 4

The renovation work on line 4 and its stations is coming to an end soon! If the light purple line has experienced numerous closures in recent months, it seems that they will soon be over. The next and final date: March 31 until 12pm, traffic will be interrupted along the entire line due to construction work.

Line 5

On line 5, the stations between Bobigny-Picasso and Jaurès will be closed throughout the Easter weekend, from March 30th to April 1st. The Jaurès station will be the temporary terminus but will remain open. A replacement bus will serve the closed stations in both directions.

On the left bank, Gare d'Austerlitz station will remain closed until April 17, 2024. As a result, Line 5 trains will not stop at this station. However, Metro Line 10 and RER C are operating normally and remain accessible.

Line 6

From April 1st to 9th, Monday to Wednesday starting at 10pm, the train service on Line 6 will end at Nation station.A replacement bus will be available for the closed stations between Nation and Charles de Gaulle-Etoile in both directions. The interruption is due to construction work along the entire line. The last departures will be from CDG Étoile and Nation around 9:45 pm. This same situation will occur from April 15th to May 1st, when the line will close in the evening. Substitute buses will be in service for the sections from Charles de Gaulle – Étoile to La Motte-Picquet – Grenelle and from Daumesnil to Nation.

The reason for these works? An "adaptation of the infrastructure" for the MP89 generation trains and a "modernization of the facilities" with "on one hand, the modification of the railway signaling installations in the areas of the Place d'Italie, Trocadéro, Italy, Nation stations and on the other hand, the on-line tests of the new train control system.

Line 11

Our favorite metro line in Paris is also undergoing some renovation works. From April 12 to 27, line 11 will be closed between Belleville and Mairie des Lilas stations. On Sunday, April 28, the entire line will be closed all day.

Line 14

Hey there! Just a heads up, Line 14 will be closed every weekday evening (except Fridays) starting at 10pm until June 27, 2024 (except on Tuesday April 30, Wednesday May 1, Tuesday May 7, Monday May 20).

And wait, there's more! It will also be closed all day on the following dates:
- In March: Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31,
- In April: Monday, April 1, then from Sunday, April 7 to Sunday, April 14; then on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28,
- In May: from May 8 to May 12; then Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26.

While Line 14 is closed, a replacement bus will be running between Gare de Lyon and Olympiades. You can find more information on the frequency of these buses on the RATP website.
