Last February, IDFM revealed its punctuality report for the metro for the year 2024. While at the time we hurried to share with you the name of the line most delayed in the capital, with the return of spring and the upcoming arrival of summer, we decided to take a more positive approach and look on the bright side. That’s why we’re back to bring you the other side of the coin (and for once, it's very pleasant): the most punctual lines in the network!

Kudos to the network!

Often, when we receive news from RATP or IDFM at the office, we brace ourselves for the worst. Construction work, strikes, postponed line openings... Yet, at the start of the year, what a surprise it was for us to discover.

this report from the public transport company in the Île-de-France region. According to it, the punctuality of all the lines in the network has improved in 2024, and quite significantly! In fact, it has recently been recognized as one of the best in the world

Indeed, if in 2023, the percentage of trains arriving on time peaked at 92.73%, it has gained 3.45 points in just one year, reaching a lovely 96.18%. That's a score very close to perfection, which RATP attributes to a number of actions taken in recent months, especially in preparation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. And three lines even achieved an incredible feat, reaching over 100% punctuality. So, who are these great champions?

It takes all sorts to make a world

At the top of this podium, we find 3 particularly high-performing lines: line 1, line 14, and line 5, with rates exceeding 100% (specifically 101.02%, 101.76%, and 101.01%, to be precise)! Honestly, well done to you, you are doing an amazing job!

, and we’re counting on you not to change anything. Line 4, the last one for now totally automated, is right behind it, with a rate of 99.80%, which isn’t too bad either. Now that we’ve settled on the lines to prioritize at all costs, we still want to give you a little reminder because one of them is still lagging a bit behind…

Thanks to the remarkable work of RATP and IDFM, there is currently only one line below 90% for punctuality. A little black sheep, a line from hell where delays are as common as a lump of butter in a Breton fridge: the 8. Not much of a surprise, as it’s pretty much considered one of the worst lines in the capital. Still, we want to commend its efforts, as it improved from 87 to 88.9% between 2023 and 2024. Let’s keep up this momentum!
