After weeks of not knowing which way to dance and enduring autumn-like temperatures in the middle of June, the weather has finally decided to treat us, by giving us a summer worthy of the name. A temperature that takes evening drinks to the next level, but that makes the daily ordeal of taking the metro even harder. Unfortunately, it could become a real nightmare for passengers on line 7 today, due to a strike...
A Complicated Day
This Friday, June 19, there’s a new social movement taking place in the Paris metro corridors. The good news is, it only affects one line. Unfortunately, it’s one of the busiest lines in the network(
agrave; the fourth place to be very precise): the 7. Indeed, throughout the day, and until the end of service, only one train out of two will be in operation. This will certainly lead to some complications, and especially to a higher than average crowd. If you must take it at some point, we just want to give you a friendly heads up: you're likely to experience a taste of hell in those unairconditioned carriages given the outdoor temperatures expected.⚠️ Ce vendredi 19 juin, le trafic sera perturbé sur la #ligne7, en raison d'un mouvement social local. #RATP pic.twitter.com/z7Nay2Q9RK

A Bittersweet Weekend
Unfortunately, this disappointment will be just the first step in a weekend that will be challenging for some. Indeed, to ensure the smooth running of the concert taking place in the Place de la République this Sunday for the Fête de la musique, no less than 5 stations across 4 different lines, will be closed starting from 4 PM on June 21st, until the end of service. Luckily, to make up for this, RATP has decided this year to offer us all-night metro service on no less than 6 lines, and we think that’s really generous of them.
