When you live in Paris, you're subject to plenty of sources of anxiety. Arriving too late at the bakery to buy your baguette. Seeing someone snag the last blue Vélib'. Or perhaps the worst of all, waking up every morning with the fear that our favorite metro line will be the next one to close its doors for various works. And this week, it's the users of line 10 who've received the bad news, as RATP announced a partial closure (but no less significant) from May 5 to 11.

More works, always more works

Line 10 is about to get a makeover. Indeed, by the end of the year, it will be the first to see the new MF19 trains running, before the others follow suit.

o;arrive on more than lines of the capital in the next 10 years. Unfortunately, before the blessed arrival of these new metros, line 10 must undergo a number of transformations to be ready to accommodate them, which will involve regular and unexpected closures.

This time, and according to the information provided by RATP, the partial disruption of traffic is due to the renewal of the railway switches at Porte d'Auteuil, as well as the replacement of tracks between the stations Michel-Ange – Molitor and Boulogne – Jean Jaurès. It's quite a project that involves a complete closure of more than half of the line for at least a whole week!

So many stations at a standstill

During the entire duration of the works, no train will run between Boulogne – Pont de Saint-Cloud (the current terminus) and Duroc, blocking at least 13 stations. And while this might be a bit of a hassle for some, fortunately, for others, it’s not likely to change the face of the world. We’re thinking particularly of .Auteuil Church, the least frequented station in the entire network, with around 500 daily users. For comparison, Châtelet has 750,000 travelers per day. There you go.

All week long, one of the aforementioned stops gets a shiny upgrade to the temporary (but still super honorable) title of temporary terminus. We’re talking about Duroc, which will be the star of the line for a whole week! And for those of you who are busy traversing the corridors between Boulogne and Ségur, a replacement bus is, of course, available, and you can also switch to nearby lines, like line 9, or just hit the pavement, because it’s always great for your health and mood!
