Metro: this heavily used line will be partially closed all weekend

Closing a subway line during vacation or a long weekend is always a double-edged sword. On one hand, we understand the reasoning that says there are potentially fewer Parisians in the capital, or that they may not be working and thus it may impact them less. On the other hand, it’s precisely a time when we want to take advantage of exploring the City of Light, which means we might be moving around even more. Unfortunately, this weekend, we'll have to skip a large portion of line 9 for our adventures.

4 black days on the green apple line

Dear eager metro info readers, don’t worry, this shutdown, although inconvenient, has a major advantage: it won't last long and it won’t affect the entire line. However, it will still impact 10 districts.

circ;ts, which means a quarter of the total of line 9. Starting from Saturday, November 8th, and until Tuesday, November 11th inclusive, no trains will be running between the stations Michel-Ange – Molitor and Franklin D. Roosevelt. Of course, no connections will be available at the 10 affected stations. For this occasion, the two aforementioned stations will be temporarily but honorarily promoted to the title of temporary terminus, splitting the line into 2 distinct sections.

Regular Troubles

Behind this partial and relatively short but still inconvenient closure, lies once again modernization work, specifically replacement of track equipment. To minimize disruption, a replacement bus will be available between the two stations for 4 days, but you can also switch to other lines, like line 10, 8, or 1, although this will require a few changes. In any case, once again, even if we’re not exactly jumping for joy at the thought of this work, if it helps us eventually have the most efficient metro in the world (we're aiming high here at Bonbon), then we're ready to be patient!
