We had to expect it: back-to-school season will be hectic for Île-de-France public transport users. Indeed, while several major construction projects are planned to modernize line 4, another heavily-used line is about to see its traffic brought to a halt in September, and this will happen twice. So what exactly should we expect?
Modernizing, again and again
The ordeal continues, even after the major summer work. And for good reason, as new closures are planned on line 6, which continues its modernization process. Traffic will be completely stopped on two days in September: Sunday, September 6 and 20. Two full days during which no trains will run on the entire line, between Nation and Charles de Gaulle–Étoile.

And bad news, friends: these two closures won't be the only ones coming between now and the end of 2026, since work will continue in the fall, with total closures planned on certain Sundays in October and November. This will notably be the case on October 4, 11 and 18, as well as November 8 and 22.
Backup solutions for everyone
The RATP has still thought of its users (phew). Throughout the entire duration of work and complete closures – in September, October and November – the regional transport company has come up with a few backup options. Indeed, a replacement bus service will be put in place, serving the entire section between Charles de Gaulle–Étoile and La Motte-Picquet–Grenelle. At the same time, bus line 71, running from Porte de La Villette to Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, will also be reinforced on these dates. In the meantime, don't hesitate to plan ahead for your trips!
