When you live in Paris, you are subject to a lot of anxiety-inducing sources. Among these, waking up every morning with the fear that our favorite metro line will be the next to close its doors for various works. It's really annoying when it happens during the week, but at least it provides a good excuse to justify being late to work. But when it messes up our super fun weekend plans, then we can't be held responsible for anything! And unfortunately, for all those who thought they could take line 6 on Saturday and Sunday, we're warning you, it might be a little more complicated than expected.

And 3 fewer stations for line 6

Since the beginning of the Easter holidays, there have been numerous disruptions in public transport. And clearly, it wasn't supposed to be.to change good habits before the end, as RATP has announced two days of partial closure on one of the busiest lines for both Parisians and tourists: line 6. For 2 days, no trains will run between the Trocadéro and Charles de Gaulle – Étoile stations, effectively blocking the stops Boissière, Kléber, and Charles de Gaulle – Étoile. Not exactly popular spots on the weekend, right? Meanwhile, Trocadéro will be temporarily upgraded (yet still quite an honor!) to the status of temporary terminus.

Construction Work, Always More Construction Work

Behind these closures, which are indeed partial but still quite bothersome, there are modernization projects for the line aiming to ensure more comfort and fewer delays, for instance. And of course, replacement buses will be set up all weekend to help you still dive into the crowd of tourists flocking to the Arc de Triomphe.

Just a heads up, there's no need to try taking line 12 either, at least for part of the weekend, since the line will be completely closed starting at 10 PM on Sunday the 27th. So yes, it’s less of a hassle, we can agree on that, but we still wanted to keep you in the loop. In the meantime, we wish everyone a fantastic weekend, and a wonderful end to the holidays for all those who’ve been lucky enough to have them.
