When you live in Paris, you're bound to face plenty of sources of anxiety. Among these is waking up every morning with the fear that our favorite metro line will be the next one to close its doors for various works. While it’s quite annoying when this happens during the week, at least it gives a good excuse for our late arrival at work. But when it starts to mess up our super fun weekend plans, that’s when we really lose it! After a month of peace, passengers on line 6 are going to face some inconveniences again. Although the line hadn’t had any interruptions since the weekend of April 26 and 27, disruptions are making a big comeback this Sunday. Indeed, all day on May 25, a part of the line will be completely inaccessible.

And 3 fewer stations for line 6

The RATP has just announced a day...

of partial closure on one of the most frequently traveled lines by Parisians, but also by tourists : line 6. For 24 hours, no trains will run between Trocadéro and Charles de Gaulle – Étoile stations, which means that the stops Boissière, Kléber, and Charles de Gaulle – Étoile will be completely blocked. These are spots that don't see much traffic on weekends, anyway... In the meantime, Trocadéro will be temporarily upgraded to the honorific title of temporary terminus.

Frequent Works That Have Become Quite a Hassle

Behind this closure, which is partial but still quite annoying, are modernization projects for the line, aimed at ensuring more comfort and fewer delays, for example. And of course, replacement buses will be running all day long to help you dive into the crowd of tourists flocking to the Arc de Triomphe.

And we want to let you know right away, if this isn’t your first time, it’s also far from being the last time this year that line 6 is causing a stir. Indeed, it will be completely closed on June 15 coming up. As for the Cambronne station, it will be entirely inaccessible from June 29 to September 28 included, which is for no less than  3 months, due to escalator replacement. Awesome!
