If you've ever taken line 7, 13, or 8, you’ve definitely experienced it at some point in your life: sometimes, the wait times between trains are long. Very long. Too long. Yet, since its opening, there's one line that stands out as an exception. It’s, of course, line 14, where trains come flying by faster than you can blink. And it seems this isn’t going to stop anytime soon, as RATP has, for over a week now, increased the frequency of trains on the purple line.

« A global achievement »

Today, on average, at a platform on line 14 during rush hour, the average wait time is just 85 seconds. That's under one minute and thirty seconds. And most importantly, that’s 10 seconds less than in March (just under two weeks ago), and 20 seconds less than a year ago, right before the line was extended to Orly Airport just before the start of the Olympic Games. Since April 1st, RATP has increased the frequency of trains during the most popular daytime hours.

A rise that allows Line 14 to position itself as one of the highest-performing lines in the world, breaking the frequency records of the Singapore metro, a country famous for its excellent transportation. As a result, this line now transports 800,000 passengers per day and is expected to surpass the million mark within two years. A true "global achievement", according to Jean Castex, president of RATP. Valérie Pécresse, who manages the Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), has also asked her teams to take inspiration from this, especially for the RER E. Fingers crossed!

Plenty of good news

The second piece of good news for Line 14 users is that the line is now champio...In the world of public transport, in addition to that, the evening closures, which have become way too frequent, should end earlier than expected! Traffic was originally supposed to be completely interrupted on Mondays and Tuesdays starting at 10:45 PM until the end of July. But following some very promising trials last weekend, these extremely inconvenient traffic stoppages should finally come to an end from May 5, in less than a month! Well, since we can't have it all, the line will remain inaccessible on Wednesday evenings and some weekends until July 23, but every little victory counts, and we think this announcement already brings us so much joy!
