Sometimes there are a few magical moments in the life of a Parisian, during which traffic disruptions are rare, almost nonexistent on the public transport in the capital. A welcome little break that, unfortunately, because all good things must come to an end, never lasts very long. This time, it’s the 12th line that bursts our bubble of hope and tranquility with a new disruption in service.

A jagged interruption

In detail, the pine green line will be closed starting this Friday, October 10th at 10 PM, affecting the whole line. And as if that weren’t enough, no replacement buses will be set up to help those in need.

to ensure their travels in the relevant areas of Paris. And starting the next day, Saturday the 11th, things get a bit more complicated, with a total shutdown of the line between the stations Montparnasse – Bienvenue and Porte de Versailles, for 2 days. During the entire interruption, which affects 5 stations, the line will be split into two distinct parts, making the two aforementioned stations the temporary termini. However, this time a replacement bus will be available throughout the weekend.

Taking a Step Back to Jump Ahead

These traffic interruptions, while slightly annoying over time, let's be honest, are actually great news! They have one single goal: to carry out preparatory work for the launch of the new MF19 trains, which are more modern, more efficient, and more inclusive. These trains are expected to debut in autumn 2025 (more specifically, on October 16, just next week) on line 10, before replacing the trains on 6 other lines: 3, 3 bis, 7, 7 bis, 8, and 13. So, get ready for a number of closures ahead!
