We’ve known for a while, but taking the metro in Paris this summer might not be a walk in the park. While the line 3 is already closed on its best half for a few days now, and the line 4 had summer renovations last week, it’s now line 12's turn to go under the knife, with no fewer than 9 stations closed from Monday, July 28, until August 7.
Nearly a third of the line out of service
From July 28 to August 7 inclusive, no trains will run between Mairie d’Ivry and Montparnasse Bienvenüe, elevating the latter to the temporary, yet honorable title of temporary terminus. During this entire period, which spans about ten days, the line 12 will be completely inaccessible.
the entire southern part, leaving a number of people in a bind. And for good reason, it’s still 9 stations out of 31 that will be at a standstill.[#travaux #ligne12] ⚠️ En raison de travaux de modernisation, le trafic sera interrompu entre Montparnasse - Bienvenüe et Mairie d’Issy, du 28 juillet au 7 août inclus.

However, we want to clarify that only line 12 is affected, and the other lines will continue to operate even in the stations where the dark green line passes. No transfers will be available, as you can understand. But don’t worry, a replacement bus will be provided on the entire cut section, so you can still get around as best as you can. This is great news, since very few other lines serve this part of the capital.
A summer marked by construction
Behind this closure lies, once again, a comprehensive modernization project of the Paris transport network. And even though it’s a bit annoying, we can only applaud the project, which will ultimately allow us to enjoy an exceptional metro. This time, the plan includes…

Just a reminder, 4 other metro lines will be affected by closures of various lengths in the upcoming weeks. The same goes for the various RER lines, where closures started just a few days ago. To be honest, we wish all the best to everyone using the B and C lines, the two most affected, and for the longest time too. A tip: if you can, it’s the perfect time to go on vacation far from the capital!
