The magic of Halloween is once again taking over the Paris metro with fun activities to surprise the Parisians, young and old. For 3 days, many stations will be decorated in the colors of the Day of the Dead. There, agents in costumes will ensure activities and have a whole bunch of surprises in store for you. In total, it's 2 RER lines and 14 metro lines, not to mention the buses and trams, that are joining the celebrations, with the biggest highlights happening on Friday, October 31st.

The metro, a terrifying experience

Well, normally, the Paris metro isn’t exactly the most pleasant place in the world. You get stepped on, there are breakdowns all the time, and sometimes you feel like you might get lost!

witnesses of absolutely terrifying situations. However, and quite paradoxically, it seems that, for Halloween, the RATP network transforms into a bit more pleasant place, by decking itself out in the theme of the Day of the Dead.

And this year, while the RATP has decided not to merge metro station names with horror movie titles — we still fondly remember Monceau becoming "Monsaw," Saint-Paul transformed into "Saint-Poltergeist," Hôtel de Ville renamed "Hotel Transylvania," and our little favorite, Denfert-Rochereau turned into "One Night in Denfert" last year — they still have a number of surprises in store.

Blood for blood madness in the metro

For 3 days, the passengers of lines 1 and 4 will be able to enjoy exclusive and terrifying sound announcements. In addition to a bunch of agents in costumes who will be handing out candies, several stations will host activities all day long. We, for example, will definitely be at .Gare de Lyon between 3 PM and 6:30 PM to see the hideous creatures parade. And we won’t hesitate to swing by Madeleine to check out the horror video projection available until November 5th. To top it all off, we’re going to take a ride on the Halloween bus from RATP, which will stop by Mairie de Montreuil, Place des Fêtes, and Mairie du 19e. And to know where to look throughout this frightful day, you can find the animation schedule and the list of all the relevant stations right here!
