In just a few weeks, we will take our first step into 2026. A perspective that is sure to sadden the nostalgic ones and fill with joy those looking forward to a new year full of wonderful things and fresh perspectives. Whether you belong to the first or the second category, we must warn you that one thing will not change next year: the disruptions in the metro. Indeed, lDFM has just announced the major construction projects, and they look quite intense.
Several metro lines heavily impacted
Alright, we won't keep you in suspense any longer, let's dive straight into the schedule of festivities. To start off, it’s the Line 4 that will be closed twice in 2026, from April 20 to May 1.
ai between Château-Rouge and Châtelet, then from July 6 to 24 between Les Halles and Vavin, for various and diverse reasons. A bit annoying, but it only affects sections of the tracks, for fairly short periods.🗓️ Principaux travaux entraînant des fermetures sur le réseau métro jusqu'à l'été 2026 : les lignes 4, 8, 12 et 13 sont concernées (3bis et 7bis aussi) pic.twitter.com/EJXrrWpjlN

Let's talk about Line 8, which will be completely closed from August 20 to 27 between the stops Balard and Concorde. But wait, the real kicker for Line 8 is that the station République will be entirely closed for no less than 9 months! Yes, you read that right, 9 months—just as long as it takes to bring a new human into the world. In fact, the purple line won’t stop there from July 22, 2026, until April 2027!
Getting Worse
Next up, we have Line 12 which will bring us a few headaches, especially in the late evening. From January to June, the line will be closed 2 to 3 times a week starting at 10 PM, and that will ramp up to 4 times in July. Plus, ...
The line will be closed between Porte de Versailles and Mairie d’Issy on May 31st, and between Jules-Joffrin and Concorde from July 16th to 26th. What a schedule for this line that just keeps giving us problems!Métros, RER, trains: la région Ile-de-France lance 3,8 milliards d'euros de travaux l'an prochain, de quoi entraîner d'importantes perturbations sur l'année 2026https://t.co/YZ6SFSUIye pic.twitter.com/zKwBXAqiN6

Finally, to wrap up this first series of announcements in style, we're turning to line 13, and this time, hold on tight, the schedule is a bit more complex to follow. The line will be closed on the weekend of February 28 between Asnières-Gennevilliers – Les Courtilles and La Fourche. Then, it will be closed entirely on March 15 and 29, May 3 and 17, and June 7 and 28, as well as on August 2, 16, and 30 only in the mornings. From July 31 to August 17, no trains will run between Saint-Denis Université and Porte de Saint-Ouen. Lastly, the Vanves station will not be served from August 6 to 9, 2026. Quite the program, as we mentioned!
The beginning of problems
And unfortunately, this is just the beginning, as we have no doubt that more interruptions will be announced.
Scheduled for the coming months, on other lines. This is just about the main projects already in progress. Modernization works amounting to 3.8 billion euros, which are expected to last at least until 2030. Yay! Especially since what we haven't told you yet is that these renewals, replacements and other renovations also involve the RER. So, the station Nation, on the RER A, will be inaccessible all summer long in 2026. During this same period, the RER C will be closed for no less than 6 consecutive weeks. In short, exciting things ahead! But don’t worry, Bonbon will always be there to keep you updated and help you anticipate your travels as much as possible !le rer b c’est vraiment la ligne qui mène directement aux enfers franchement vivre à paris c’est trop pour moi wllh
