This Sunday, February 25, as the rapper kept his fans waiting, they began singing a fervent refrain. To everyone's surprise, however, it was not one of the songs of the artist now known as Ye, but a strong and straightforward "Macron Resignation".

It looks like this weekend was quite interesting with a surprising mix of two very different worlds coming together. On Saturday, February 24th, we had the frustrated farmers causing chaos at the Agriculture fair. Then on Sunday, the 25th, there were Kanye West fans eagerly attending the rapper's "Listening Experience" at Bercy. Despite their differences, they all united under one common chant: "Macron Resign".


An Angry Audience

While Kanye West's surprise concert, announced just a week ago, was already making waves due to the sometimes questionable remarks of the artist, things are not likely to calm down in the coming days. As spectators waited before the start of the concert, they began to sing this chorus passionately, positioning themselves against our President.

It's definitely a bit tricky to connect French politics and the singer, but this isn't the first time Macron has faced criticism at a music event. He was previously booed at the Global Citizen in June 2023, and at the Girl in Red concert in April 2023 at the Olympia.

This outburst perfectly reflects the growing frustration that seems to be spreading across a large (very large) part of France, especially as the President is only midway through his second term. And even if he may not pay much attention to Ye's fans, we hope that at least the clashes over the weekend between farmers and riot police will prompt a reaction from him…
