Ah, the metro in summer in Paris… A vast topic. It’s both the best time to take it, with most Parisians having deserted its corridors, and the worst, because in light of this desertion, RATP takes advantage to squeeze in as many works as possible, resulting in closures of varying lengths. And 2025 shouldn’t be any exception since, for the past few weeks, we’re getting tons of announcements about service interruptions. After 6 weeks of announced shutdowns on the RER C , this time it's a metro line that will have a bittersweet summer.
5 black weeks on the olive green line
One week, okay. Two, why not. Three, we’re starting to reach the end, but okay. But now, RATP has truly pushed the boundaries of our tolerance, and that of all the commuters.
ers from line 3, announcing no less than 5 consecutive weeks of traffic interruption this summer. And on top of that, this summer closure affects a total of 13 stations, which is more than half of the line, just to make sure to really inconvenience as many people as possible.Lignes de métro fermées, bus toutes les demi-heures, travaux partout… la meilleure chose à faire à Paris, l’été, c’est partir. pic.twitter.com/sauoxHlGlt

And guess what, it's of course this part that won't be working…
Tough break for line 3

Behind these extremely troublesome works lies a major construction project to prepare for the arrival of the future MF19 trains, as line 3 will be one of the first to benefit from them. A replacement bus will of course be set up during the entire duration of the disruptions, between Gallieni and République. But hey, we prefer to warn you, you’re not done suffering yet, since line 3 is just a tiny part of the challenges awaiting us this summer, with no less than 8 metro lines having their services interrupted. Yay!
