Arriving soon and leaving just as quickly. Sunday, June 28, 2026 will officially be the last day to visit the artwork that has taken Paris by storm: The Cave of Pont Neuf imagined by the artist JR. It covers the Pont Neuf over 120 meters long and up to 18 meters high, as a tribute to Pont Neuf Wrapped by Christo and Jeanne-Claude in 1985. Open since June 15 with a delay due to bad weather that had damaged the fabric, it has since welcomed hundreds of visitors from Paris and all around the world.

The Cave of the Pont Neuf is ready to be recycled in France
A fleeting masterpiece, but truly a little piece of Parisian history. Starting June 29, 2026, and until July 13, the grand canvas that makes up The Cave of the Pont Neuf will be gradually dismantled. The bridge will then be reopened to traffic. What will happen to the artwork? It will be recycled. “In 2026, every project, whether artistic or not, must follow a conscious approach to its impact, whether it is environmental, social, or economic. The canvas necessary for the installation will therefore be reused ,” JR shares in a statement. Indeed, “we are in the process of selecting non-profit organizations that will make thispossible approach, with the aim of having a strong social impact. [...] I especially want its second life to be written in France, in Paris as well as in the regions », he adds.

You know what you need to do: rush to La Caverne before Sunday, or head to Galerie Perrotin if you're running late!
