The one, the only and the hilarious Jonathan Cohen is stepping behind the camera once again and preparing his next feature film, a new installment in the Asterix saga. A universe he already knows well, having played Graindemaïs in Guillaume Canet's film, Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom. This time, he's taking the helm to celebrate the work of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.
The good news? You too can play Gauls on screen! With filming scheduled for spring 2027 in the Île-de-France region, the film's team is looking for extras. Here's what you need to know.

Do note the "historic" character of the film, though. Even though it's a work of fiction, the setting is planted firmly in the time of the Gauls and therefore involves a few physical constraints. Candidates won't be able to have visible tattoos or piercings. The same goes for hair: no eccentric cuts, bangs, shaved heads, or colored or bleached hair. Women will also need to have long hair.
Gauls versus soldiers
Beyond general extras, the casting team is also looking for people who can look like Gauls and soldiers in the background. For this, a few criteria are required: the film is seeking blond, red-haired, or brown-haired men who are mustachioed or bearded and with long hair to playthe irreducible Gauls. But also men considered sporty and fit, sought after to play soldiers in the Roman army.
Of course, each day of filming will be paid, with a fixed salary of 108.33€ gross. It's worth noting though that a costume fitting session will be mandatory, with compensation of 25€. So, fancy being the next Gaul on the big screen ?
