As they say, all good things must come to an end. But some endings are ones we'd like to postpone just a little longer. Yesterday, Sunday, September 8th, Paris waved farewell to its Games, which have been part of the French daily life since July 26th. These Games created a buzz around the globe and truly made history with a capital H. During the closing ceremony, which took place at the Stade de France from 8:30 PM to 11 PM, 80,000 spectators were treated to a spectacular show crafted by Thomas Jolly, despite the rain that fell throughout the evening, just like it did during the opening of the Olympic Games

A Dancing and Festive Evening

Unforgettable performances, dazzling light shows, fireworks... This evening will truly stay in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to be there. The ceremony began with a fantastic performance by the singer Santa, who belted out « Live for the Best » by Johnny Hallyday. Following that, 24 French DJs including Jean-Michel Jarre, Kavinsky, Martin Solveig, Ofenbach, and The Avener took turns lighting up the stage.

The Paralympic boccia champion, Aurélie Aubert, joined forces with medalists Gloria Agblemagnon (shot put, silver medal), Ugo Didier (para-swimming, one gold and two silver medals), Charles Noakes (para-badminton, medal d... Mathieu Bosredon (three gold medals in para-cycling) to officially extinguish the Olympic flame, marking the true end of the "most spectacular Paralympi.c Games in history", as described by Andrew Parsons, president of the International Paralympic Committee.
