The Gare de Lyon, much like Two-Face from Batman, is undoubtedly the most dual station in the capital. On one side, it boasts a stunning façade, with its clock tower, broad esplanade, and gorgeous cut stones. On the other side, though, Bercy side, it tells a different story. Here, a dark, dirty street cluttered with bus stops and delivery stations hides entrances to the trains and metros that are rather uninviting. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait just a little longer to enjoy this massive transformation! The project isn't expected to wrap up until 2029. On the other side of the building, the main facade is also undergoing renovations to get the facelift it truly deserves. Thankfully, this time, we won’t have to wait as long to see the results. And at least, in a few years, the Gare de Lyon will be looking fabulous!
