It was a grand premiere in Paris! On Sunday, October 5, 2025, thousands of dogs and cats accompanied by their owners gathered on the most beautiful avenue in the world to parade for the first edition of the Animal March. And with relatively pleasant weather, they enjoyed a stroll from the Champs-Élysées roundabout all the way to the Arc de Triomphe.

From the French Riviera to the capital

The Animal March originated in Nice for the very first time in 2022, initiated by Henry-Jean Servat, a writer and former journalist. At that time, it gathered 500 different animals, dogs and cats of course, but also horses and even llamas. Since then, this march takes place every year along the Mediterranean. Now, it's the capital that offers its own version of the event, supported by the mayor of the 8th arrondissement, the City of Paris, and the Animal Festival in the city. The march was free to attend, and the avenue had been specially closed to traffic for the occasion.
