It snowed in Paris, and it warmed our hearts. Since this opportunity is too rare, we've selected the most beautiful images of the capital covered in snow for you.

It was the most amazing surprise at the start of the year 2026. Yesterday, Monday, January 5th, snow fell in the capital, bringing joy to the Parisians. From the afternoon until early evening, the snowflakes kept falling, creating a thick white blanket that inspired many  to build snowmen on the sidewalks, or even to bring out their skis and snowboards in Montmartre. 


Traffic Disrupted 

While the arrival of snow delighted many, it also significantly disrupted travel in the northern and western parts of France. In total, in the Paris area, over 1000 kilometers of traffic jams were recorded. Buses have been canceled, while the RER and Transilien traffic has turned out to be particularly tricky, due to both the snow and the ice. This situation still holds true on the morning of Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Six fatalities are to be mourned in road accidents. Although the orange alert has been lifted in about twenty departments that were affected, the yellow alert remains in effect in a larger part of the country.
