Since May 17, a big part of Place de la Concorde has been closed to traffic, no matter how you're getting around, and you can't even take metro line 12 there. The rest of the square will be closed starting this Friday evening, so you won't be able to go there at all from June 1st. Hooray for the Olympics! The Police Prefecture shared this exciting update at the end of May. On June 1st, the entire Place de la Concorde will be off-limits, no matter how you're traveling. This decision comes after three major roads in the city (including half of the square) were closed on May 17th.

As for the metro station, a little break for the brave, since it will still be accessible on lines 1 and 8 until June 17. Hooray. From then on, the Place de la Concorde will have time to become a distant memory, as it will only reopen to the public on... September 7th! Shall we meet there in September to celebrate?
