Let's face it, it can happen to us during an intense work day to think about the future. The one where days would be particularly peaceful because finally, retirement would be on the horizon. BrokerChooser looked into the matter and compared the 13 regions of metropolitan France to understand which would be the best and worst for spending your retirement.
Île-de-France, the underachiever
BrokerChooser took different criteria into account to establish its ranking: population aging, real estate prices, the share of retirees in the population, life expectancy after age 60, the number of healthcare professionals per 100,000 inhabitants and the num
number of municipalities awarded "3 flowers" or more label.
Based on these criteria, Île-de-France ranks 12th with a low score of 46.7/100, just ahead of Hauts-de-France which scores 41.5/100 and takes 13th place. While Île-de-France performs well in categories like life expectancy after 60 years (26.8) or healthcare professionals per 100,000 inhabitants (391), it falls short when it comes to real estate: the median price per room is €67,000.
Heading to Brittany?
On the other hand, Brittany comes out on top with 73.9/100 — if you're willing to say goodbye to sunshine but ready to savor the sea breeze, it might be time to
to explore real estate options there, especially since the region ranks among the lowest for sale price per square meter. It is followed by the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region (67.1/100), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (64.9/100), Corsica (62.4/100) and Burgundy-Franche-Comté (61/100) which make up the top 5.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
