On Sunday, July 14th, France will celebrate its national holiday. A particularly special July 14th, as it will not take place on the Champs-&Elysées, and will highlight the olympic movement and the 80th anniversary of the landings and the Liberation.

In just a few days, France will celebrate its National Day and this year, it won't be a typical July 14th in Paris. Due to the organization of the Olympic Games, the parade that usually takes place on the Champs-Elysées will be moved to Avenue Foch, going from the Arc de Triomphe to Place du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny. But this July 14, 2024 will also mark many anniversaries. The event will be broadcast live on TF1 and France 2. A day of celebration and commemoration. 2024 is definitely a year of celebration, with many milestones to commemorate. In addition to celebrating Olympism, the parade will also pay tribute to the 90 years of the army of Air and Space and the 80th anniversary of the Landings and Liberation.

The morning program is meticulously planned down to the minute. At 9:20, the troops on foot are positioned at the top of Avenue Foch. At 10am, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, arrives on Avenue de Friedland. At 10:16, there is a performance celebrating the anniversaries of the D-Day Landings and the Liberation. At 10:32, helicopters and light aircraft fly by. Four minutes later, the specially honored troops parade followed by the troops on foot. At 11:17, the airplanes fly past and at 11:25, a final performance on the theme of "The Armed Forces and the Olympics" takes place. At 11:41, the President leaves.
