These Paris and Île-de-France Hospitals Are Ranked Among the Best in the World

Many Parisian and Île-de-France hospitals have just been recognized among the world's best in 13 medical specialties. Here they are!

Paris excels in tourism, gastronomy, culture, heritage… but also in healthcare ! The ranking of World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2027 has just been published in Newsweek magazine and it turns out that some Paris and Île-de-France hospitals rank among the best in the world. Wonderful news that's particularly reassuring. 


Île-de-France particularly excellent in oncology and cardiology

It's particularly in the field of oncology that the region stands out. Gustave-Roussy Hospital, located in Villejuif, makes the top 3 of the world's best establishments in this specialty. In this same ranking, we also find Institut Curie which achieves a very impressive and honorable

ble 25th position, Pitié-Salpêtrière in 55th place, as well as the European Georges-Pompidou Hospital in 90th place.

On the cardiology side, it's the Pitié-Salpêtrière that ranks among the world's top 5 hospitals. The establishment in the 13th arrondissement stands out remarkably in several other specialties:

cardiac surgery (6th place), urology (10th place), endocrinology (15th place), and gastroenterology (21st place). For cardiology, the European Hospital Georges-Pompidou ranks 21st. Hospitals such as Saint-Joseph and Marie-Lannelongue are also part of the ranking.

In total, no fewer than 8,500 hospital establishments were evaluated for this ranking. And among them, 734 received recognition for their expertise in a specific field such as urology, cardiology, neurosurgery, endocrinology, nephrology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, gastroenterology, cardiac surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics-gynecology.
