Another complaint has been filed for sexual assault against Gérard Depardieu

Two women have told Mediapart that Gérard Depardieu sexually assaulted them on the set of a film in 2021. One of them filed a complaint on Friday, February 23rd.

Great news! Gérard Depardieu is once again making headlines, but this time it's not for his acting skills. The 75-year-old actor, who has been facing allegations of rape and sexual assault since 2020, is now the target of a new complaint. A decorator has come forward alleging that she was sexually assaulted by Depardieu on set in 2021. This brave woman, named Amélie, filed a complaint with the Paris prosecutor's office, adding to the existing accusations against the actor. The incidents in question took place during the filming of the movie "Les volets verts" in Paris, under the direction of Jean Becker. It's important to note that these alleged assaults are not subject to prescription, so justice may finally be served. Let's hope that these serious accusations are thoroughly investigated and that the truth comes to light.

According to his words to the investigative newspaper, the actor allegedly made numerous lewd comments during filming in Paris on September 10, 2021. Later, he reportedly "grabbed her roughly" and "groped her waist, belly, moving up to her breasts". The reported assault was said to have been interrupted by the actor's bodyguards. Also according to Mediapart, another 33-year-old woman named Sarah, a third assistant director on the same film set in Paris, accuses Gérard Depardieu of touching her "chest and buttocks" on two occasions on August 31, 2021.


The complaints keep coming against Gérard Depardieu

In another case, 13 women have accused Gérard Depardieu of sexual violence, making the situation alarming.

Regarding alleged acts that would have been committed on several film sets between 2004 and 2022. Actresses, extras, interns, directors... The investigation not only reveals the problematic behaviors of the actor towards women but also the silence that still prevails in the French film industry on this subject.

On September 10, 2023, another woman joined the already long list of alleged victims of the actor: it is the actress Hélène Darras, who filed a complaint for sexual assault on the set of the film Disco in 2007. And as if that wasn't enough, in December, France 2 aired a Complément d'enquête on Gérard Depardieu in which he is heard making sexist and vulgar remarks, even sexualizing a 10-year-old girl who was horseback riding.

On his part, the actor has denied ever committing any assault during his career: "I am neither a rapist nor a predator," he wrote in an open letter published in October in Le Figaro.
