We're telling you: this summer, it's going to be a cycling frenzy! First, because it's going to be so hot that it could fry cacti in the desert, and getting into the metro where the air doesn't circulate will be the worst idea (plus, the ticket will cost 4 euros). Second, because the City of Paris has decided to take some nice measures to promote cycling. Among others: increasing the number of Vélibs and the stations to accommodate them. So, you won't have any excuses not to "ride" all over Paris as if you've been doing it your whole life!

20% more bicycles

No matter where you are in the capital, you will be able to find a Vélib' because the number of self-service bikes has been greatly increased with 3000 new bicycles to reach a total of 20,000, which is 20% more bikes than before. But that's not all! To park these bicycles, ten temporary stations will be installed near the sites where the Olympic Games competitions will take place. Between 2024 and 2025, one hundred stations will be expanded with 1700 new docking points.

Paris, best cycling city

And this news couldn't come at a better time as Paris has just been voted the best city for cycling in France! With its 972,548 km of routes.

With its 700 kilometers of cycling lanes and 1300 bike stations, she surpasses many French cities. Fast, eco-friendly, and downright pleasant, this will be your must-have this summer. You know what to do: hop on your faithful or temporary steed and ride "bright and early, [start] on the roads, by bicycle"!
