The Gherkin

Some call it the Mansart of the 11th. The Gherkin, founded by Bertrand Chauveau and Paul Henri, has been packed since its opening at the end of May! This café, already an emblem of the 11th, combining the atmosphere of a traditional tobacco bar and the modernity of beautiful Parisian tables, attracts locals, trendy Parisians, and fashionistas from around the world. Open every day from 8am to 2am, Gherkin offers pinball machines, scratch cards from the FDJ, and a generous cuisine led by Bertrand Chauveau. The weekly menu offers a French lunch menu (almost like school lunches) with a €19 starter-main course option. In the evening, the atmosphere heats up a bit and you can enjoy small plates to share at friendly prices. A big favorite is the beef fat fries and the skewer of duck hearts with its absolutely devilish pepper sauce. The nostalgic decor, designed by Laure Gravier and Soizic, with ceiling fan, velvet sofas, and mirrors, evokes the 70s. The small quiet terrace located in front of the church on Rue des Goncourt adds to the charm of this (BREAKFAST) popular neighborhood spot. The Gherkin 2, Rue des Goncourt - 11th More info Maurice Sfez Café Get ready to remember the name Maurice Sfez! This talented chef, known for his successful restaurants Homer Lobter and JANET by Homer, has now opened a new café in the charming Marais neighborhood. Instead of your usual sandwich joint, Maurice has created a cafe serving up a delicious mix of sweet and savory treats inspired by his grandfather. Indulge in mouthwatering Liege waffles and unforgettable egg and cheese sandwiches. Wash it all down with a variety of expertly brewed coffees, matcha, chai, and lattes. The cozy decor and friendly atmosphere of the café are just as inviting as the food and drinks. And with affordable prices (4.50€ for a waffle, 7€ for an egg muffin), this spot is perfect for satisfying all your cravings. In short, Maurice Sfez Café has it all and may just become your new favorite hangout spot!

After Crème, a well-known bistronomic table in the 18th arrondissement, Camille and Maxime opened Le Comptoir, a new cozy hideaway located less than 10 minutes' walk from the first, a kind of food and drink cellar in the heart of the Jules Joffrin neighborhood. On the menu, instinctive and instant cuisine, carefully selected wines by our hosts, all served in a small intimate 30-seat dining room, where you can stand at the counter or sit down. Our favorite? Three cheese arancini (parmesan/comté/emmental) that are super indulgent or the truffle croque-monsieur with comté, ham, and truffle béchamel... A menu that will make you lick your fingers and never want to let go.

Chouchou on the Seine

For summer 2024, Chouchou Hotel is relocating its terrace to the banks of the Seine with Chouchou on the Seine! An ambiance reminiscent of a bar "guinguette" from the south of France, lined with olive trees and laurels, with lanterns, large checkered tablecloths, and deck chairs with azure stripes... the perfect spot to chill out this summer! On the food side, indulge in platters of meat or vegetarian options and the hotel's signature cocktails. And to liven things up, open mic nights, piano jukebox, blind tests, DJ sets, live music, and stand-up comedy nights will be happening all summer long!

Dandelion

Opened in May 2024, Dandelion is a perfect fusion between a gourmet restaurant with original culinary experiences, and a bistro with a friendly atmosphere. Raw walls, wooden tables, concrete floor, and Italian vintage lighting from the 70s... The former colorful bar that resided within these walls has been given a new look. At the helm: Morgane Souris (formerly from Parcelles) and Antoine Villard (formerly from Septime and Double Dragon) offer us a cuisine focused on seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes. Braised veal ribs on the barbecue, perfectly tender pork cheek stew from Perche, vanilla-infused cabbage Tropezienne... All washed down with good French natural wines, and you're all set.

Gaijin Ramen

After delighting us with their ramen kits for years, Gaijin Ramen finally opens its restaurant in Pigalle! On the menu: 100% artisanal ramen made "with passion and in the traditional way", hot or cold, some in limited edition, donburi, sando, gyoza, karaage chicken... In short, the best of Japan to enjoy on the spot or to take away. The restaurant also offers a great selection of sakes, cocktails and draft beers, all in a cozy and warm atmosphere, with a decor that honors the Land of the Rising Sun.

Fellows

Chef Mehdi Favri, who already runs the successful Maslow in the heart of Paris, has now opened his new 100% vegetarian neo-70s counter on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis. This time, Chef Mehdi is focusing on a dish that is loved by many: pasta. All the delicious pastas are freshly made in-house and served with unique recipes. The menu includes options like mafaldine with harissa, pici with cacio and zaatar, fettuccine with vegetable boutargue and lemon... Our personal favorite is Mehdi's tribute to his mother: butter-cheese pasta with mustard pickles. It's the ultimate comfort food!

RORI

After SLICE, The Slicerie and Jay's, a new New York-style pizza counter has just appeared in the capital, in the heart of the 11th arrondissement, and it is called RORI. Stucco walls, lacquered tables, and chrome lamps... A retro 70's atmosphere that is sure to appeal to the hip Parisian crowd. On the menu, five homemade recipes served on thin crust: tomato, pepperoni, fior di latte, margherita with peppers, and potato. And it's not just about pizza, there are also a few small plates with oysters, mozzarella croquettes, mortadella and more, overall, it's pretty good.

PLAT/FORM

This summer, we're chilling at the base of the BNF. Right in front of Nix Nox, this new artistic and gastronomic terrace has a lot to offer because it's none other than Alexandre Marchon, a contestant from season 14 of Top Chef, who is in charge of the kitchen. Here, you can choose from some delicious dishes to share - pizzas, cheese and charcuterie, fried smelts... basically, everything to make you lick your fingers -, seafood since the restaurant has an open seafood bar all summer long, or a cheeky bistronomic menu where surf and turf are the stars. PLAT/FORM also offers eclectic live music every night with weekly residencies, and showcases artworks by renowned street artists! Enjoy! 🎶🍽🎨

We're moving a bit away from Paris towards Versailles for the opening of a brand new food court just a stone's throw from the famous castle, I named Sept Lieux. On the agenda: 400m2 entirely dedicated to food and entertainment, including 3 delicious food kiosks, a beautiful outdoor guinguette, a loooong cocktail bar, a modular stage, a big sound system and above all, an amazing atmosphere. It opens on July 10th and believe us, we'll be there!
