A Reimagined Club
In an interview with Le Parisien, Jean-François Meneboo, the owner of Gibus for the past twelve years, discusses the closure of the venue citing several factors. The owner laments the changing festive practices and highlights the unfortunate rise of chemsex in the LGBTQIA+ community, which diverts some of the community towards more private parties. He ultimately sums it up by saying he is "fed up". After organizing hundreds of parties each year, the 53-year-old claims he wants to slow down the pace.

However, its spaces continue to shine at night, as renovations are planned before a reopening in the fall, still in the form of a club, but with a more generalist approach.
