Just a few days before the fateful date of June 21, aka the official start of summer, the sun is still playing hard to get in the Île-de-France region. The past few weeks have been marked by bad weather, with a series of disturbances and significant precipitation leaving little room for sunshine. A shy sun, temperatures below average Meteorological records show a deficit in sunlight since February. For instance, the Paris-Montsouris station recorded only 160 hours of sunshine in May, compared to a normal of 201 hours. In June, only 116 hours of sunlight have been recorded so far, well below the usual 203.5 hours. The beginning of this June has also been cooler than usual. Temperatures have been below seasonal averages across the entire country, about one degree below climatological norms. After the storm, comes fair weather This week, a cold front is expected to pass, bringing with it sunny skies and warmer temperatures. So, let's stay optimistic and hopeful for some much-needed sunshine to finally make an appearance! From Monday to Friday, before a return of clear skies for the weekend. From Sunday, the sun will finally come out to definitively illuminate the capital for several days with temperatures above 20°C. Bring on the vitamin D, bring on the summer!
