On Sunday, February 1, 2026, we officially enter the second month of this year 2026. This month comes with a new full moon, and it’s a special one: we’ll have the chance to discover what is nicknamed the "Snow Moon", due to the normally plentiful snow during this season — although this name doesn’t quite apply to Paris, we agree!

A Year with 13 Full Moons
This famous full moon will be particularly bright in the sky starting at 11:09 PM on Sunday, February 1st, although it will already be visible in the sky a few hours earlier. It’s known as the second full moon of a year that will have a total of 13, which is unusual since, typically, a year usually only has 12. The next full moons are expected on March 3, 2026, April 2, 2026, and on May 1 and 31, 2026, with May featuring two full moons, one of which will be the Blue Moon.

A full moon to refocus on yourself
This nickname, “Snow Moon,” was given by the Indigenous peoples of North America — it was known as the Snow Moon. It marks a time when hunting becomes more challenging due to the slow nature brought on by winter and snow. This full moon is rich with symbols: it encourages introspection, resilience, and especially a gentle preparation for the renewal that spring will bring in just a few weeks. You know what you need to do: slow down and embrace the emotions and little upheavals that might pop up in the coming days.
