The Editor

It is undoubtedly one of the greatest mysteries of our time: what has become of Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès (XDDL, for the intimate ones)? While many people defend the thesis of suicide, this is certainly not the case for Romain Puértolas. This writer delivers a crazy version of the story, between fiction and investigation, thanks to which he supports his point of view: XDDL is indeed alive.

A Slight Obsession

Okay, we admit it, we got a little carried away, you won't unfortunately have any exclusive information about the investigation in this article. But, here's the opportunity to discover this crazy story in a slightly different way.

It all began in 2011, when the Dupont de Ligonnès family was decimated. Romain Puértolas decides to conduct his own little investigation, and it quickly turns into an obsession. To the point where he finally decides to stop it all for fear of losing his mind. And it's understandable, because it's slightly unhealthy after all.

A quirky viewpoint

It wasn't until 2019 that the writer, convinced that he had spotted Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès in Spain, decided to delve into the subject by envisioning a meeting with our dear Xavier. This intriguing concept is developed in his new novel, which will be released by Albin Michel on January 10.

This book is a bit absurd, but with plenty of humor, it serves primarily as a means for the writer to support his main thesis: XDDL did not commit suicide! We find this theory quite intriguing too, because there are many troubling elements that could suggest he is still alive. But where? If you have any information, feel free to let us know.ntacter.
