Specifically, that of church bells ringing for several long minutes — something quite ordinary, really. It won't be explained by funerals or a wedding, but rather by the arrival of Pope Leo XIV in France that very morning.

Church bells ringing in harmony with the Pope's landing in Paris
The Holy Father's arrival is scheduled at Paris-Orly airport, on Friday, September 25th at 10 a.m. And it's at that precise moment that all the churches across France will ring out in unison, for a total of seven minutes. A symbolic gesture that will mark the beginning of a particularly busy visit for the Pope.

A first day spent across the capital's four corners
That very day, the Pope will travel through the streets of Paris aboard his popemobile. The departure will be from the Notre-Dame-des-Champs church, with arrival at Place Saint-Michel. So at 5pm, the bells of Parisian churches will ring out once again. In between, he will also visit the Élysée to meet President Emmanuel Macron, at the Unesco headquarters, as well as Notre-Dame de Paris. This first day will conclude with a grand mass held at the Stade de France.
