Well, the bad news is that Airparif, the organization responsible for analyzing the air quality in Paris, has announced a peak in fine particle pollution today. However, the good news is that to counter this high level, Vélib' has decided to make things easier for us by offering free bikes all day long. We’ll explain the conditions to meet in order to enjoy this lovely little gift and kick off the week on the right foot.
Bicycle Day
« A very light wind and cold temperatures will lead to an accumulation of pollutants emitted locally by road traffic and wood heating. » That's the judgment from Airparif. Just dropped, this Monday, February 3rd won't be a great day for the Île-de-France region. A spike in pollution leads to temporary restrictions, but also to some very positive measures from the City of Paris.

Indeed, following this announcement, the Town Hall has decided to offer free bikes all day long. To take advantage of this, all you need to do is subscribe to a daily plan, and you're all set! This will allow you to enjoy electric bikes or regular ones for the entire day, without spending a penny. It's the perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to try out the little queen in the capital before taking the plunge.
The car hunt continues
In the same spirit, many announcements have been made regarding car traffic today. And since every little bit helps to reduce pollution by discouraging Parisians from driving, it’s all hands on deck!
