It's not uncommon, during special occasions, to see the Paris metro corridors shed their uniform white and usual monotony to bring us a little bit of excitement. For example, we remember the renamed stations during the French victory in the World Cup, or, more recently, the scary decorations and animations (relatively) created for Halloween. This time, for the holidays, space, a fascinating and dazzling territory, has been chosen as the theme.

From metro station to space station

Immediate takeoff. For your safety, please mind the closing doors. This year, for the holidays, out with Trocadéro, Bastille, or Place des Fêtes, the metro invites you to head straight to a gala. axie fort distant. To enjoy this one-of-a-kind expedition, head to the Station Pyramide on the Line 14, where starting from December 12, you'll find a model of the historical Thomson-Sprague equipment — the very first fully metal metro trains — showcased surrounded by cosmonauts and aliens.

Let’s continue the journey thanks to the “Ice Planet”, waiting for you at the station of the same name on line 6. There, backlit spheres will immerse you in a fantastic universe at the heart of the stars. From December 19 to 21 (that’s next Friday to Sunday), you can enjoy a virtual reality experience to explore a space shuttle, along with a special photo booth that will allow you to defy gravity!

The entire RATP gets involved

To stick with the theme, some of you may have noticed that since December 3rd, poems ...Moonlit (in the literal sense) are popping up all over the trains, offering you a dreamy escape and whisking you away through both the capital and across the galaxy. Finally, from December 22 to January 2, sounds from outer space will accompany you on lines 1 and 14, both inside the trains and at the validation areas. Listen closely!

More generally, in this wonderful month of December, it’s the entire network coming together to help you enjoy joyful festivities, thanks to some lovely decorations and activities at no less than 25 stations between December 16 and 21. Among the lucky stations, we haveBastille on December 19 from 1 PM to 6 PM orGare de l’Est on the 20th from 10 AM to 5 PM. For the complete list of times and places, it’sright here!
