Why does everyone get rejected from this club in the 9th?

You've definitely seen these videos. Endless lines, colorful neon lights, and young folks devastated on the sidewalk after a "There's no way this is happening" delivered with a smile... Welcome to La Fête, the club that has decided to banish boredom and gloom from its Parisian nights.

Here, black is banned

If you thought the hardest thing in Paris was getting into the ultra-VIP circles on the right bank, think again. Here, the bouncer isn't looking for your name on a list or the thickness of your wallet. At the entrance, it's Isaak Dessaux who is in charge. Comedian, TikTok star, and the most scrutinized physio in the capital, he is the guardian of a temple where the rule is simple: boldness.

The concept? Show up in a look you would never dare to wear at 3:30 PM to pick up your bread. The rule is clear, almost harsh for Parisians addicted to monochrome: no black.

Why so much hate on social media ?

On TikTok, the hype often turns into pure frustration. The stories of party-goers getting rejected are piling up. The main criticism? A selection deemed arbitrary, even elitist under the guise of "coolness". However, the management defends itself: The Party aims to be universal and intergenerational. The club refuses the commercial "boom-boom" of nightclubs to offer a blend of 80s gems, nostalgic disco, and pop hits. You’ll find twenty-somethings belting out the lyrics to their parents' songs and thirty-somethings seeking an enhanced vibe. But to access this vintage paradise, you have to « win the heart of Isaak», as he himself shared during an interview on France Inter.

The Keys to Hope for Passing

If you want to avoid the walk of shame in front of everyone on the Boulevard de Clichy, here’s the recipe for the perfect spot: an incandescent look, forget about minimalism. Bring out the glitter, bright colors, and unexpected cuts. You need an attitude; come with your heart racing and ready to step out of your comfort zone. Lastly, when it comes to makeup, the club favors a stylish look but not overly done, favoring a festive natural look over the artificial glamour of luxury clubs.

A Homogeneous Clique?

The debate highlights the fine line between creating a vibe and exclusion. In trying to create a place that is neither too élitist nor too mainstream, La Fête has become, by the force of circumstances, the most divisive place in Paris. We either love the concept of awakening the star inside us, or we dislike the idea of having to dress up just to have the right to dance to Sheila.

So, is La Fête the last bastion of creative freedom or just a new exclusive club that doesn’t openly admit it? One thing is for sure: as long as the line stretches down the sidewalk, Isaak will continue to control the atmosphere of your weekend nights.

Friendly advice: leave your black perfecto in the coatroom of your own apartment.

@fredstauffer My favourite club in the city. Music is awesome, everyone is there to dance and have good time. Not your regular club. Arrive early and stay till the end, you’ll have the best time! #parisnightlife #paris #lafete #disco #whattodoinparis #fyp #vibes #party #partytime ♬ Move on up - Curtis Mayfield
