Like any self-respecting Parisian, you surely have your favorite metro line and the one that you dislike the most. These preferences can be based on very rational criteria (speed, frequency, coverage), or totally personal reasons (your ex lives on line 6, your favorite restaurant is on line 2). Nonetheless, everyone has an opinion, and Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) wanted to know yours through a huge survey, the results of which have just been revealed. So, which line takes the crown?


A well-deserved first place

Not surprisingly, it's line 14 that stands on the top of the podium and takes home the gold medal. It's worth mentioning that this rather miraculous line is (for now) the fastest in the network, the longest, and one of the most punctual.

g> thanks to an unmatched frequency, and for nearly 2 years now, it has also made it much easier and more comfortable to reach Orly Airport. Inaugurated on October 15, 1998 by Jacques Chirac, who was then the President of the Republic, it has recently earned another honorable title, that of the most frequented line in Paris, knocking the 1 off its long-standing top spot since its opening in 1900! Indeed,


A Surprising Ranking

In second place, and against all expectations, we have the 6! Yes, we know, we were also expecting to see the 1. But surprisingly, it's the mint green line that takes home the silver. We must admit, it has some charming features, especially its very vintage feel, thanks to the MP73 trains still in service, and most importantly its aerial sections, which offer some of the most beautiful views of the capital, showcasing a unique panorama of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine. But don't worry, the 1 is indeed on the podium, in third place. A spot it shares, quite surprisingly, with the RER A! And the fact that there's an RER line in this ranking just goes to show that miracles really do exist!
