We all have a fear when we arrive at Disneyland Paris : stepping into the park thrilled like a child, only to discover that our favorite attraction isn't accessible. And as it happens, one of the park's flagship attractions is about to close its doors soon, as was announced at the D23 convention in California on Saturday, August 15, 2026. While this closure is meant to be temporary, die-hard fans will still have to exercise a little patience.

The End of an Iconic Attraction

While Disneyland Paris continues to welcome exciting new attractions that are making waves on the international stage — including a dedicated land for Frozen — the park is preparing to say goodbye to Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain

No need to worry though: it's just scheduled maintenance work. When it opened in 1995, it was called Space Mountain, a universe inspired by From the Earth to the Moon by Jules Verne. It wasn't until 2017 that it took on the cape of a Star Wars attraction. These renovations will actually bring it back to its roots.

Was it better before?

The current attraction will close its doors at the end of 2027, before reopening a few months later with a completely new look and cutting-edge technology.

Many changes will take place in the two Île-de-France parks: a themed area dedicated to The Lion King is currently being created in the Disney Adventure World park, not far from the space devoted to Frozen. A brand new parade led by Mickey will also debut by 2028.
