It just goes to show that what drives social media crazy can bring joy to others. On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, appeared at the World Economic Forum in Davos sporting sunglasses on his nose due to an issue with his eye. The frame, reminiscent of the famous aviator model, is adorned with gold detailing and has sparked a lot of chatter, but more importantly, it has boosted sales for a small company from the Jura region.

A bestseller frame

Handcrafted Glasses in France

Founded in 1921, this company located in Lons-le-Saunier was acquired by the Italian Ivision Tech in 2023. Here, the production is artisanal and relies on very specific know-how. The Pacific S 01 model worn by the President is produced in only a hundred copies each year and requires four months of handwork. Emmanuel Macron purchased them in 2024. While the company is now overwhelmed with work due to this recent spotlight, Stephano Fulchir stated that « it’s a surprise that this has been made public and visible to everyone. We are thrilled to be able to show that we want to continue the history of the brand that is over 100 years old ».&
