They were used to transport love letters, which we absolutely adore, fines, which we like a bit less, or even dentist appointment letters telling us we’re entitled to a free box of dental floss, leaving us a little indifferent. But who knows, soon they might serve to carry your fresh fruits bought at the organic market on Sundays, your too tipsy friend on Thursday nights (even though it’s not great), or even your lovely person, every day, to work. Here’s everything you need to know before you enjoy this amazing offer from La Poste.
A well-deserved second life
Until 2019, the bicycles from La Poste trundled along for 5 years, before unfortunately ending their life in the graveyard.
Outlawed bicycles, without any other form of process and no way to escape it. At that time, Jean-Marc Pierret, then head of a company office, decided that this situation could not continue, and worked for 2 years to establish a more sustainable situation.Nouveauté #economiecirculaire ! #LaPoste propose, à prix attractif, les #VAE de facteurs, reconditionnés par sa filiale @NouvelleAttitud, entreprise d'#insertion

So, it was in 2021 that with Nouvelle Attitude, a parallel branch of La Poste that helps adults in professional integration, he set up a bicycle refurbishment workshop in Joué-lès-Tours, in Indre-et-Loire. On-site, the bikes are taken apart, each piece is sorted and repaired before giving these loyal steeds a well-deserved second life. And now, they are for sale to the general public!
What do these new rides look like?
Coming out of the workshop, you’ll find bikes made up of 70% recycled parts. But don’t worry, all the pieces related to their safety and their proper functioning, are carefully chosen!
Like the battery, the cables, and even the brakes, are completely replaced to ensure optimal use. And goodbye to the traditional chick yellow, the frames are also repainted, and it's you who gets to choose the color and the accessories!👏 Bravo aux équipes de @NouvelleAttitud #Tours, filiale du @GroupeLaPoste, pour cette 1ère vente de vélo reconditionné ! And the excellent news is that the price has also undergone quite a significant change, as these little gems will be available for the modest sum of €1360, which is more than twice less than a new electric bike (VAE) ! What a great deal, especially since they are eligible for a regional aid of €600 for the purchase of this type of vehicle. So it’s definitely worth it (and thus, the cost too).
Where to get these little wonders ?
If the offer appeals to you, we have some more fantastic news (yes, we’re feeling generous today), there are 8 sales points in Paris! That way, no matter where you are, you should be able to find your happiness easily !
