The Parisian sky is getting ready to dress in a thousand colors, under the amazed eyes of spectators. On July 14th, a fireworks display will light up from the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro Gardens, as tradition dictates, to celebrate the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille, the inaugural event of the French Revolution. Themes, sequences, meticulously choreographed drones: this is the outline of a show that promises to be, once again, particularly ambitious this year.

Kicking Off the Celebrations with the Paris Concert
On this National Day, the festivities will kick off at 8 PM sharp with the iconic Paris Concert. Since 2013, a classical music concert has been held every July 14th at the foot of the Eiffel Tower to lead up to the fireworks display. The National Orchestra of France, the Radio France Choir, and several international soloists will come together to enchant the audience with their melodies, before they are treated to a stunning visual and sound show that has been in the works for months.

1,000 Drones Twirling Around the Eiffel Tower
In 2024, Christophe Berthonneau, the director and set designer, introduced drones for the first time in the Olympic firework display of the capital. Hundreds of pyrotechnic pieces lit up the Paris sky to music, showcasing new technical wonders that allowed for aerial displays. It was a success that could become a tradition: the city has announced that the firework show, starting around 11 PM, will again be accompanied by a thousand drones. These drones will fly for the first time from the Champ-de-Mars and Trocadéro, and surround the Tower. Meanwhile, 50 projectors will be positioned at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
Made up of four sequences and eleven Tableaux, the fireworks show will highlight several themes. It will "recall the breath of hope born here 10 years ago with the Paris Agreements, before taking us on a journey to Brazil, to Belém, and then to the Amazon, drawing parallels between our rivers. We will return to Paris via the Seine, a living artery connecting the shores of history, before concluding with a sequence dedicated to the New Romantics and all those who move forward, carried by love, friendship, and solidarity,” describes Patrick Bloche, the first deputy mayor of Paris, to our colleagues from Parisien.

The Champ-de-Mars Reopened to the Public
A spectacular event that everyone wants to witness in the best conditions, but unfortunately, every year, the crowd is so large that you need to get a little crafty to find a great spot. In 2024, Parisians really struggled with space as a significant part of the Champ-de-Mars remained closed to the public due to the Olympic events at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. Good news this summer: the area, giving you front-row access to the show, is again open to about 60,000 people. If you’re short on inspiration, we also direct you to our guide to the best spots for an amazing view of the fireworks, which might just save the day for any indecisive ones out there.
