The Editor

Because we love a good challenge, we've spent countless hours scouring Google Maps to analyze the ratings and reviews left by locals for each metro station in Paris. And guess what? We've found the winner of the not-so-great award... Barbès-Rochechouart!

A scathing review

Thanks to a pretty 2.6 out of 5, the station is leading the pack (or rather the tail) of the group. While we admit that the choice of the worst district surprised us a bit (hello 10th), this time, we actually agree with this assessment. And we say that with full knowledge, since that's where the editorial team goes down every morning to go work !

Overall, it's mainly the surroundings of the station that are criticized, because they're dirty, too dangerous, poorly frequented, and all that stuff. But the metro platforms are not left out, as some quite scathing comments show. We particularly laughed at Kevin's comment: "« The line 4 platforms are a real anti-atomic bunker underground. Perfect for an inva".Zombie invasion or nuclear war. It's tempting !

The North of Paris Facing Challenges

If no other station reaches the deplorable score of Barbès, other stops are not doing very well either, and, not surprisingly, they are all more or less located in the same area, namely in the north (center and east) of the right bank. For example, we can mention Porte de la Chapelle (2.9), Stalingrad (3.2), La Chapelle (3.3), Gare du Nord (3.4) or Jaurès (3.5).

In contrast, the west and south are doing quite well, since the highest-rated station is none other than Passy, with a nice 4.5. At the same time, even if the station is (slightly) touristic, it's understandable that it charms with its exceptional view of the Eiffel Tower. And the reviews are raving. "A small station with a lot of charm".in a very beautiful neighborhood ». There you have it, that's all.

A slightly subjective ranking

So, yes, we acknowledge that the sources are debatable, since some opinions are also left by tourists, and some stations are too poorly rated for the score to be taken into account (we therefore skipped Champs de Mars and its incredible 5/5, as it was only due to 2 reviews). But a small survey has overwhelmingly succeeded in validating our analysis, and confirming the internet reviews.

Despite everything, as you can imagine, it's difficult for us to provide you with a complete ranking, which would involve listing each of the approximately 309 stations in the capital. But feel free to go directly to Google Maps to find out about your daily stations, and if it's time to move, or if you can stay put.Allow us to keep the same route for a bit longer.
