The Editor

This weekend, we’re giving you a heads up, it’s going to be quite a sporting event in the streets of Paris, in both the literal and figurative sense. Literally, because after the half marathon, the Ecotrail of Paris, the 10K Étoiles, and the famous marathon, the capital is getting ready to welcome yet another new race: the adidas 10K. Figuratively, because this event might cause quite the chaos for cars with a number of traffic restrictions and parking adjustments to expect. Whether you’re gearing up to take the starting line or hop behind the wheel of your car, we recommend starting to warm up right now!

The Most Beautiful Race in Paris

This Sunday morning, tens of thousands of runners are getting ready to set off in the streets of the capital, discovering some of its most beautiful monuments. And p

our cause, the adidas 10K, is a legendary race that will take all participants from the Place de l'Étoile to the Arc de Triomphe (yes, we know, it's a loop), passing by the quays, the Louvre, the Opéra Garnier, and of course, a glorious finish on the Champs-Élysées. On the agenda, as the name suggests, are 10 kilometers of running open to all athletes in Paris. And while we think it’s a really great Sunday plan — several of us are actually running at Bonbon, so feel free to come cheer us on — it might still cause a few traffic issues.

Prohibitions All Around

To ensure the smooth running of the event, and especially the safety of all runners, no motor vehicles will of course be allowed during the designated time set by the prefecture of Paris. The plan includes 4 districts that will be moving slowly throughout the race, specifically the 8th, 9th, 16th, and 17th. And for certain areas, the trouble will even start on Friday the 6th from 6 PM! Luckily, these early prohibitions only concern parking. As for traffic, depending on the streets and districts, prohibitions will be in place from midnight Saturday night to Sunday and until 6 PM on June 8th. But since the list is quite long, and we wouldn't want to confuse you more than help by breaking it all down, we...We suggest you check out the prefectural order directly, and it’s happening right here!
