Stopped in 2017, back in 2026
The story of the Christmas market on the Champs-Élysées is quite turbulent. In July 2017, the Paris Council voted unanimously to shut down this market — which had been run by fairground operator Marcel Campion since 2008 — because of its overly commercial character, far from a festive, traditional and artisanal atmosphere that the capital wanted to highlight. The fairground operators then set up at the Tuileries Christmas market, which will also take place from November 6, 2026 to January 8, 2027.
