The year 2025 will be a year of big changes for transportation in the Île-de-France. The arrival of new single tickets for the entire Île-de-France, the end of booklets, a rise in Navigo fares, construction everywhere… And it’s not going to stop anytime soon, as the year still has a few beautiful months ahead, just enough time to surprise us (again). Here’s the lowdown for the back-to-school season.
A Fresh Look for Line 10
This is one of the flagship projects for the end of the year for Île-de-France Mobilités. After a series of temporary closures in September – every evening from Sunday to Thursday starting at 10:30 PM – Line 10 will be showing off this fall with its new generation MF19 metro, trains designed to be quieter, more reliable, and, most importantly, air-conditioned. Great news for daily commuters!

The Arrival of the First Cable Car in Île-de-France
We've been talking about it for years now: Cable 1, the first cable car in the region – and soon the longest in urban Europe – is set to take flight by the end of 2025. This new aerial line will connect Créteil - Pointe du Lac (the terminus of line 8) to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, easing the congestion on the périphérique. Nearly 11,000 daily travelers are expected. The first tests will take place as early as October, with service hoped to begin in December.
Le téléphérique #cable1 c’est « une construction rapide et écologique » affirme Laurent Probst, DG @IDFmobilites. Lancement prévu en décembre.

The (definite) end of the cardboard metro ticket
Is there anything more Parisian than a metro ticket? The one we used to find by the dozens between half-empty packs of cigarettes at the bottom of our handbags – before becoming responsible adults and treating ourselves to a Navigo pass… Whatever happens, this ticket full of memories is destined to disappear: since 2023, some stations have stopped selling them (favoring rechargeable passes). Its sale will definitely end in November at all stations. The end of an era…

The Start of a Revolutionary New Bus
In 2025, we welcome a brand new next-generation transport: the TZEN 4. It's a kind of 24-meter-long articulated bus that charges directly at the station from the ground. Quite an impressive innovation – and especially a world first – that will be tested starting this December around Paris, between Viry-Châtillon and Corbeil.
