Calls to 3919, the number for women victims of violence, are up by 8% in 2025

The 2025 review of the hotline for women victims of violence (3919) has just been published. This year, the number of calls has broken records once again!

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the National Federation Solidarity Women (FNSF) published its annual report analyzing data from the 3919, a free, anonymous listening line available 24/7, for women victims of domestic violence. In total, in 2025, there were 108,241 calls made to this number, which represents a 7.8% increase. While this rise may seem alarming, it also means that women are becoming more courageous in speaking out and seeking help.


66% of the perpetrators of violence are regular partners

Among these calls, 85% were related to psychological violence, 71% concerned verbal violence, and 48% involved physical violence. 

Economic violence was linked to 23% of the calls, while there were 10% of calls about cyber violence and 6% about administrative violence. Although sexual violence accounted for 15% of calls, 61% of the calls were about marital rape. In 66% of cases, the perpetrators were regular partners, compared to 33% being ex-partners. 79% of the victims reported violence impacting their mental and physical health.

eacute;pondantes means providing real help to women in critical situations, it also means responding to “ calls that are on average longer than before due to the violence they testify to, more complex, and increasingly resembling acts of torture or barbarity ”.

The Federation must face a significant number of men with disparaging or even insulting behavior. “ In 2025, nearly fifteen questions were directed at the government asking for the opening of 3919 to men, led by members of men's rights groups. [...] Their actions are varied but follow the same logic, which, under the misleading argument of “ defending fathers' rights ” and “ equality ”, only seeks to hinder women's rights, dilute and dissolve.and the services and systems dedicated to women victims of violence and deny the reality of violence against women », specifies the FNSF statement.
