Here we are at the last public holiday in May, a month that has flown by at lightning speed. Thursday, May 29, 2025 will mark Ascension Day, and it’s safe to say it’s a great opportunity to take Friday off for a little extended weekend. Just like on May 1st and 8th, one question remains: which places will remain open and which ones will close their doors? Let’s take a look.

The museums and monuments

When it comes to museums, there isn’t much to report. Most museums, monuments, and castles will remain open, especially the museums of the City of Paris. This will be a great chance to go explore the exhibition Louvre Couture before it...

and ending on July 21, to elevate your spirits at the Arc de Triomphe, explore the various châteaux in the region, or enjoy the Disco exhibition at the Philharmonie.

The Grand Stores

Galeries Lafayette, BHV Marais, Bon Marché, Printemps Haussmann… The grand stores and shopping centers in Paris will be open on this holiday, but their hours will be slightly different from usual. Most will open their doors at 10 or 11 AM and close at 7 or 8 PM. Make sure to check in advance!

Parks and Gardens

Great news, the green spaces in Paris will be ready to welcome you on Ascension Day. And that’s perfect because the weather is expected to be quite pleasant. On the agenda: sunshine and 23 degrees!

The Libraries

If you had plans to visit one of the municipal libraries in Paris, you'll need to rethink those plans because they will be closed.

The Tennis Courts

For those who...They would have been inspired by Roland-Garros and would love to hit a few balls, and that's possible at the different tennis courts in the capital. These will be open to the public on May 29th.
