Last spring, while there was a lot of buzz about potential swimming sessions in the Seine for the Olympics, the Paris City Hall announced the opening of swimming in the river for all Parisians by 2025. A few weeks later, it was confirmed that the operation would be free. And just a few months away from the official launch of swimming, the construction is moving along nicely to welcome Parisians in the best way possible.
Developed and secured areas
If five sites were initially planned, only three will actually be set up starting in July. At each location, “floating platforms will be installed to facilitate swimmer monitoring and prevent swimming outside the designated area,” explains the project. There will beswimming areas will be clearly marked, defined, and monitored.

And to ensure everything goes smoothly, work has already begun around Bercy in the 12th, bras Marie in the 14th, and bras de Grenelle in the 15th. For now, the project mainly consists of civil engineering technical operations. However, we'll have to wait until June for the installation of the first floating structures, which include piers and footbridges made by the same company that set up the infrastructure for the Olympics.
Complete and Well-Defined Areas
Each of the three spots will feature swimming zones, as well as changing rooms, showers, and storage areas, to make the experience as pleasant as possible for all Parisians brave enough to come and explore ...
