In Germany or even in Australia, it's very common to bring things to make grilled dishes in various parks. And often, the meal becomes like giant picnics where everyone enjoys together in a friendly atmosphere. Until now, this practice was completely forbidden in Parisian parks, but 2026 brings change and newness: starting in June, self-service barbecues will be set up in the big parks of the capital.

5 parks equipped with barbecues
There are some decisions we love more than others in Paris, and the one that allows barbecues in the city's parks makes us especially happy! Of course, like any new rule, it won’t be applied in every Parisian park. You’ll find several of these barbecues — along with planchas — at the Buttes-Chaumont, Belleville Park, André Citroën Park, Monceau Park, and even just outside of Paris, in the Bois de Vincennes.
An increase in cleaning and security services
Allowing barbecues in the capital means taking significant fire risks...
. The City of Paris will implement regular rounds by park agents. Fire extinguishers will also be placed near each barbecue, and it won't be allowed to use them after 10 PM in the summer.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
While the cleaning services will take care of regularly disinfecting the surfaces, users will have a role to play in cleaning the grill after each use with the metal brushes provided. For now, this setup is offered as a first trial that may be continued during upcoming summer seasons if it proves successful.
P.S.: Before we wrap up, have you checked the date today? Always keep a hint of skepticism... because as tradition goes, April 1st is often a day for mischief, and here at Bonbon, we love our jokes. Don't be too disappointed, our pranks have sometimes ended up becoming real in the past... You never know!
