The capital is still charming on an international scale. While buying real estate in Paris remains difficult for French people due to interest rates as high as property prices, in the rest of the world, the capital continues to attract real estate investors. A study conducted by CCF bank with data from the Notaires du Grand Paris and reported by Le Parisien, ranked different nationalities based on the number of real estate acquisitions made in 2023. And our cross-border neighbors are doing very well!

Across the Atlantic as the largest foreign buyer in Paris

So, it's the United States that made the most real estate transactions in the past year, with a total of 231 purchases. Lebanon comes in second with 132 transactions, followed closely by Italy with 89, Belgium with 62, and Germany with 60 purchases. 62 different nationalities made real estate acquisitions in the French capital in 2024. The study, however, notes that the number of transactions made by foreigners decreased by -14% for non-residents and -16% for residents.

Île-de-France, the most dynamic region in 2023

If the study was applied to the different regions of France, it is indeed the Île-de-France that emerges as the "most dynamic region" in 2023, with a significant increase in real estate transactions and investments.Île-de-France stands out as the most dynamic region of the year 2023. "In our region, one out of every two files is from a non-resident foreigner. They are looking for the real Paris, with accommodation that is affordable but close to life in Paris, culturally and historically speaking expensive," explains Frédérique B, a real estate agent in Paris, during an interview.

n options that meet their quality requirements and..."n close to shops, the greengrocer, the florist, and the bistros," explains Andrea Bostrom, director of the Varenne real estate agency, to Le Parisien. A quest for which non-resident foreign buyers are willing to pay a high price, since the average price of a real estate transaction was €803,000. Despite being littered with construction sites and uncertainties surrounding the Olympics, Paris continues to amaze and does not lose its splendor in the eyes of the world!
